LAND

A winery and its region. The Azienda Vinicola Palladino, set in the centre of Serralunga d'Alba, makes alive the history and the characteristics of a corner of Langa which is the heart of the production of Barolo. The hills there have little shade, thanks to a total daily insolation, which has created, from age to age, a micro-climate suitable for vine growing. The long "serra" (greenhouse) of the Langhe: the name Serralunga d'Alba comes from here and so comes a calcareous-clayey soil that gives full bodied wines, with a perfect balance of tannins.

A village, its castle and its wine: a common history expressed in that region in which Palladino has always believed. The castle, dating back to the XIV century, overlooks the village of Serralunga d'Alba and seals up its identity. The wine, which has always been produced in the surrounding hills, is the real star of the village: at the end of the XVIII century, stealing grapes or do damage to a vineyard was punished under special laws. The village of a great wine tradition: here the Azienda Vinicola Palladino has created its brand.
